 Point Guard University  is a group of former players who have played the game at a high level and are now dedicated to teaching the game of basketball... Our program consist of highly qualified, skill development specialists who are passionate about maximizing the potential of athletes  who desire to improve their mental approach and basketball skills... 

Our Program Goals

Our core values for all of our trainings, camps is consistent and you can trust that your athlete will be in a productive, and competitive enviroment...  We believe it's bigger than basketball...that without self discipline you have nothing!...We strive to improve each player's decision making and mental approach to the game. Therefore, we built our programs based on the foundation of these core intangibles: discipline, mental toughness, leadership, and good habit building...  It is our mission to instill these principles in every player we come across. 


OUR HISTORY & FUTURE

PGU has been in the business of skill development since 2008 and has trained hundreds of players in the Milwaukee area as well as the surrounding communities....  Several of our players have went on to compete at the college level and beyond...  Our mission is to continue to develop the youth mentally, physically, and spiritually using basketball as the vehicle...

Terry Bennett - (Coach & Skill Development Specialist) Has been coaching and training players for over 20 years at both the college and high school levels... He has numerous accomplishments such as winning a state championship as well as multiple conference championships...  He has developed several high level D1 players as well as players who have played professionally...  As a player he was one of the state top scorers for James Madison high school in milwaukee and also an All-State performer who eventually went on to become a sharpshooter at New Mexico State University and followed up with a professional career in Spain...
 
 




Darryl Porter - (Coach & Skill Development Specialist) Has been coaching and training players for the last 12 years in city of Milwaukee and across the state of Wisconsin... Some of the premier programs he has worked with include, but is not limited to; the Wisconsin Playground Warriors, Dominican High School, and Sussex Hamilton. He has also worked with players currently in college on scholarship and players who have offers on the table...  As a player, he spent 3 years on varsity as the team captain, and all-conference starting point guard at Wauwatosa West before he continued on to play the same role at Madison College.  At Madison College he was a defensive stopper and lead the team in assists ...
 
 

 
Devon Jones - (Coach and Skill Development Specialist)  Devon graduated from Hope Christian High School.  He was a starter on the varsity basketball team all 4 years while in High School, improving in every statistical category each year.  After High School he attended the University of Concordia-Chicago and is currently attending UWM.  My passion and love for the game of basketball goes well beyond the court for the meticulous nuances of the game is beneficial for life long lessons that can be passed on from one player/coach to another.  The opportunity to play, teach and learn all through basketball is a joy and an honor.
 
 







Rishon Haralson - (Coach & Skill Development Specialist) Has been coaching and training players for the last 7 years in city of Milwaukee and across the state of Wisconsin. Coach Shon is the current Head Boys Basketball at Milwaukee Bradley Tech High School in his first year. He has been in the coaching circuit since 2010 with such schools as WCLL, Milwaukee school of languages, Milwaukee Juneau and Milwaukee Madison till he landed his first varsity head coach job. He has also been a premier trainer in the Milwaukee Area from grade school to Professional players also. His motto is everything we do is for the kids our goal is for every player to play at the best level they can play at and be successful in the classroom and on the court. Coach Shon was a three-year starter at Milwaukee Tech High school from 1999-2002. College years he spent one year playing at Tennessee State University in Nashville,TN and one season at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN.











Michael Askew - (Coach & Skill Development Specialist) Coach Askew graduated from Riverside University in 2004.   He was a varsity player from 2001-2004 at Riverside.  After high school, he attended Lane College in Tennesee where he obtained his Bachelor's in Education.  Coach Askew then went on to coach at Christian Faith Fellowship from 2010-2016 and Milwaukee College Prep from 2015-2017.  Coach Askew has an incredible work ethic, and he has a passion for the game of basketball that is unmatched.
